Pinecones are one of our favorite craft supplies, and we've used them for everything from pinecone wreaths and pinecone garlands to ornaments made with pinecones and more.
We made a pearl pinecone Christmas tree recently, using a mid-sized pinecone that turned out great.
Today, we are going to continue to use faux pearls as "ornaments" and make a giant pearl pinecone Christmas tree - the pearl version of the giant pom pom pinecone Christmas tree we made here.

How to Make a Giant Pearl Pinecone Christmas Tree
Step 1. You're going to use the same method for creating a tree trunk and base that we used in this giant pompom pinecone tutorial here.
Cut a small section of a branch and hot glue it into the center hole of the wood slice.
Then, hot glue the trunk and base to the bottom of the pinecone.
(Revisit this giant pinecone tree tutorial for a refresher on how to do this step.)
The giant pinecone tree should stand up on its own once you've done this step.
Step 2. Put a dab of hot glue onto the end of one of the pinecone's sections.
Place a pearl into the glue and hold it until it cools.
Step 3. Repeat, gluing pearls around the pinecone tree at varying intervals.
Leave some of the sections bare so it doesn't get too cluttered.
Step 4. Turn the tree around and make sure you get the backside as well.
Once you've added pearls around all sides of the pinecone, the giant pearl pinecone tree is finished!
Common Questions
That's up to you! If your pinecone stands up on it's own without adding a base, you can add the pearls without adding a base, and just call it a day! But the base and stem add visual interest to the pinecone tree, so it's worth adding if you have those supplies or can make them.
These beautiful, giant pinecones can be hard to find. It was a stroke of luck to find them at my local Dollar Tree! Check craft stores, dollar stores, and online retailers like Amazon and eBay to see if you can find some.
We made similar trees by hot gluing colorful pom poms to the ends of the pinecones - we made giant pom pom trees, medium-sized pinecone trees with pom poms, and tiny pom pom pinecone trees for Christmas. You could also add things like tiny metal bells, beads, or gems as "ornaments."
In our version of the giant pearl pinecone tree, we spaced the pearls out quite a bit.
This lets the pinecone itself take the stage and be the focus, with the pearl ornaments as embellishment.
You could add more pearls to the tree, giving them more of the focus, but just be careful not to make it look too cluttered.
It's very rustic chic, and works on the mantel during the winter holiday season or all year around! Pair it with a set of DIY wooden Christmas trees and you're all set!
