Step 2. Using this stick tree tutorial, hot glue sections of sticks into a triangle tree shape with a small tree trunk.
Step 3. Put a dab of hot glue at the top of the back of the ornament, and put one end of the twine into the glue.
Step 4. Wrap the twine around the stick tree.
Step 5. Continue wrapping the twine around the stick tree until it’s wrapped to your satisfaction.
Step 6. Put another dab of hot glue on the back of the tree, near where you first glued the twine to the stick.
Put the twine into the hot glue, and then trim off any overhang.
Let dry, so the twine is secure.
Step 7. Add a twine hanging string to the top of the ornament.
In this tutorial, we took a simple stick tree ornament and gave it an upgrade by wrapping it front top to bottom in twine!
This project is easy enough for little hands to do, making it a great kids’ craft idea for Christmas.
You can also experiment and try wrapping the ornament in yarn, embroidery floss, or baker’s twine to give it a different look.
The twine is very “rustic chic” and gives the whole ornament a humble vibe. But the sky is the limit, and it’s easy to try something different!
