How to Make Faux Leather Earrings
Step 1. Gather Supplies
Supplies Needed:
- Faux Leather
- Earring Hooks
- Scissors
- Pliers
- Leather Hole Punch
- Earring Templates – FREE in our Resource Library!
Step 2. Choose your earring template, and cut it out.
Determine which leather earring template you want to use, and cut it out.
Cut small pieces from your fake leather sheets to get ready for your earrings too.
Step 3. On the back of the faux leather, trace the earring template.
Step 4. Carefully cut the faux leather earring shapes out.
Inspect them after they’re cut out. Clean up any noticeably jagged edges to make them as smooth as possible.
Step 5. Punch a small hole in the top of each fake leather earring with a leather hole punch.
Using a leather hole punch, make a hole in the top of each earring shape.
This will be the hole you attach the earring hook to.
Step 6. Use pliers and attach earring hooks to each artificial leather earring.
Open the wire loop at the bottom of each earring hook.
Attach one earring hook to each earring shape.
Pinch closed with the pliers to secure.
Step 7. Test out your new stylish earrings!

DIY Faux Leather Leaf Earrings
The steps are the same as the tutorial above, with a few more added in.
Step 1. Gather Supplies
Supplies Needed:
- Faux Leather Sheet
- Earring Hooks
- Jump Rings
- Scissors
- Pliers
- Leather Hole Punch
- Earring Templates – FREE in our Resource Library!
Step 2. Trace the shape of the earring template onto the back of the faux leather sheet.
Step 3. Cut out your faux leather earring shapes.
Step 4. Punch two holes in the top of each earring shape as shown on the template.
Step 5. Pinch the leather leaf shape as shown, so the two holes come together and meet in the middle.
Step 6. Attach a metal jump ring through both holes and pinch to secure.
You can experiment with different-sized jump rings. You can also alter the placement of the two holes slightly, to create different variations of how the leaves look.
A bigger jump ring will make a looser leaf shape, and a smaller jump ring will make a tighter, more distinctly folded leaf shape.
Step 7. Attach earrings hooks to the jump rings and you’re done!
