How to Make an Ice Cream Pom Pom Garland
Learn how to make a super cute ice cream pom pom garland, using yarn poms and cones made from recycled toilet paper rolls, in this fast, easy tutorial!
Materials
- Pom Pom Ice Cream Cones (Follow our tutorial showing how to make yarn pom pom ice cream cones.)
- Fishing Line
- Embroidery Needle
Instructions
- Cut a piece of fishing line (or other string) to be slightly longer than you want the finished garland to be.
- Thread the embroidery needle, and string the ice cream cones onto the string through the center of each yarn pom pom, one by one.
- Tie loops at each end of the string, space out the cones, and hang up your new garland!
Notes
- Start with 8-10 DIY ice cream cones for a mantel garland. Add more if you want the cones closer together, or if you want a longer garland.
- You can use other string such as embroidery floss, twine, bakers twine, or yarn if you don't want to use fishing line.
- Medium-weight yarn is the most affordable and works best for making yarn pom poms that work great as ice cream scoops. Choose the yarn colors you want, or make multi-colored pom poms for a fun variation.
