How to Make Yarn Tassel Ghosts

Learn how to make yarn tassel ghosts for Halloween using yarn, googly eyes, felt, and hot glue! They are super easy and a great kids' craft!

Materials

  • Yarn
  • Googly Eyes
  • Felt
  • Scissors, Hot Glue Gun & Glue

Instructions

  • Make yarn tassels using either the cardboard method or the by-hand method.
Both methods work; it's a matter of whichever you like best.
  • Trim up the bottoms of the tassels so they're nice and even.
  • Cut ovals out of the black felt for the "O" mouths of the ghosts.
  • Hot glue googly eyes onto the round head of a yarn tassel.
Hot glue the felt mouth below the eyes.
  • Continue adding faces to the rest of the tassels.
  • You can leave them as they are, or hang them up by threading twine or yarn through the top of the tassel with an embroidery needle.

Notes

  • Yarn tassels can be made either using cardboard or your hand to help you wind the yarn. Choose whichever method works best for you.
  • Use hot glue to attach the googly eyes to the yarn, even if the eyes come with an adhesive on the backside. This will ensure they stick well and don't fall off.
  • Display your yarn ghosts as they are, or turn them into ornaments, keychains, or even fun garlands for Halloween!
