How to Make a Rope Wreath
Learn how to make a DIY rope wreath using white cotton rope from the Dollar Tree and a wire wreath form!
- Circle Wire Wreath Form
- Rope
- Scissors, Hot Glue Gun and Glue
Using the same weaving technique we used in our jute wreath tutorial, thread the rope through the wire rungs of the wreath form in an alternating pattern - over, under, over, under, and come back through the other way: under, over, under over.Continue this alternating over/under weaving pattern with each pass of the rope through the wire frame. Snug up the rope as you weave it onto the wire frame so there aren't any gaps. You want the rope to be snug because the weave pattern shows up more, and you'll see less of the wire wreath too. Continue to weave the rope over and under the wires of the wreath form. You can add new sections of rope if you need, starting at the backside. You can secure the ends of the rope sections to the back using hot glue. Keep going until the entire wreath form is filled!Hot glue the end of the rope to the back of the wreath, and you are done!Hang the wreath up on a nail or hot glue a small loop of string to the back so you can hang it up.
- You can use any type of rope but this version uses cotton rope!
- Buy more rope than you think you might need. The exact amount needed depends on the size of the wreath form and the diameter of the rope. If you have extra, you can always use it for a different project.
