- Faux Leather Leaves
- Wreath Form
- Hot Glue Gun and Glue
Step 1: If you are making a DIY wreath form, you can use many different materials. I am using old electrical wire, but you could use a wire coat hanger, any thick wire, or you could even cut a big circle out of thick cardboard. You just need to have a sturdy wreath surface to hot glue your leaves onto. Step 2. I used masking tape to secure the two ends of the old electrical wire into a circle shape.
Step 3. To hide the masking tape, I wrapped it in twine, gluing the beginning and end to secure it.
Step 4: Begin hot gluing leaves onto the wreath form, overlapping them as you go.
Step 5. Continue to place them one by one, around the circle of the wreath form. Overlap each one as you hot glue it until the entire wreath is covered.
Step 6: Once the whole wreath is covered, check both sides of the wreath to make sure all of the leaves are secured to the wreath form. Add more hot glue if any of the leaves are too loose.
- You can use a premade wreath form if you have enough leaves to cover the whole thing. Otherwise, you can repurpose old wire, wire hangers, or even thick cardboard into a DIY wreath form.
- If you can't find faux leather leaves, try using paper leaves, fabric leaves, or felt leaves to make this wreath. Or, try preserving real fall leaves with Mod Podge or beeswax and use those!
- Use twine or fishing line to tie a small hanging loop to the wreath form.
