Learn how to make cute Acorn Cap Mushroom Ornaments with our step-by-step guide. Perfect for adding a whimsical touch to your holiday decor!

Materials

  • Acorn Caps
  • Small Sticks or Branches
  • Hot Glue Gun and Glue
  • Twine
  • Scissors
  • Pruning Shears

Instructions

  • Cut tree branches into 1" lengths using pruning shears.
These are going to be the mushroom stems.
  • Dab hot glue into the underside of an acorn cap, and add a branch piece, making a "mushroom cap and stem."
Hold them in place until the glue is dry.
  • Repeat for all of the acorn caps and branch pieces.
They will form little teeny acorn mushrooms.
  • Cut a piece of twine and tie it into a loop to make a hanging string.
Hot glue the bottom of the loop to the top of the acorn cap.
    Let the glue dry.
  • Repeat for all acorn mushrooms until they each have a hanging string.

Notes

  • If you can't collect your own acorn caps, you can buy them on Amazon, from sellers on Etsy and eBay, and they may be available at your local craft store as well.
  • Sticks are also sold at craft stores and online. Or, you can use small wooden dowels as the mushroom stems too.
  • You can also use any type of string, embroidery floss, or baker's twine as hanging string if you don't have twine or don't want to use it.
