We stopped at one spot and got out to go exploring in the woods. We had a very wet summer with lots of rain, and little mushrooms sprouted in everyone’s yard. It as the summer of mushrooms, for sure. As much as they are annoying, they are also unique and delicate and, I think, pretty. That is, if you stop to look at them.
So, we did. Because I thought I’d be taking shots of entire trees, I had my usual 50mm lens and then my wide angle 28mm lens with me. Neither of those are very well suited for up close macro photography. So. I made do what what I had, dropped down on my hands and knees in the forest and got about 2 inches from the mushrooms. Trying to avoid poison ivy the whole time. Success! No poison ivy was contacted and I managed to get some photos that really showcase the individuality of the different types of mushrooms.
The world is full of beauty, even in the most unlikely form. All we have to do is look!
