I have always felt extremely lucky with the mom that God gave me. She gently helped guide me through rocky teenage years, she never put too much pressure on me in anything, but rather encouraged me to live up to my potential, and even though I didn’t like it sometimes, she challenged me to stretch out of my so-loved comfort bubble. As I get older, I know more and more how lucky I have been to have her as my mom. We get to do fun things together now, like go shopping and out to lunch and just talk. We’re not only Mother-Daughter, but friends too, and that feels awesome. I love you, Mom. Happy Mother’s Day!
I can’t forget two other moms in my life too; my mother-in-law and my step mother-in-law. Everyone has heard all these horror stories of horrible mother-in-laws and I know of so many people who don’t get along with their husband’s moms. I feel so lucky! Happy Mother’s Day, Sheila! Thank you for doing such a great job raising Matt. [P.S. We need to get a picture of just us, I think. This is the only one I could find!]
And to my step mother-in-law, Happy Mother’s Day, Lori! You are always taking the photos so I can’t ever get you to be IN one with me! š Next time we come to California, it’s a must – we need to have a photo of us taken.
Because Mother’s Day makes me think of spring and flowers, here is proof that Minnesota is creeping toward summer!
